There are wineries in Calvert County!

A recent development in the county's agriculture is the establishment of several wineries.

With the tobacco buyout discouraging farming, new comers to the county have planted vineyards and invested in processing equipment and distribution.

Grape vines have replace tobacco.

Harvesting is labor intensive and

processing is a year-round operation.

Aged in white oak casks

After bottling, some wine is shipped to distributors, some delivered to local restaurants, and some sold to tourists visiting Calvert's wineries.
