Calvert Cliffs
Nuclear Power Plant—
Landmark and Chesapeake Bay Navigational Marker

Built by Baltimore Gas & Electric in the 1970's on 2,300 acres of prime waterfront property, the Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant and its associated high power electric lines have become a Calvert County landmark.

The high voltage transmission lines are maintained by helicopter crews.

The visitors' center is located in an old tobacco barn at the front entrance of the plant. (See http://www.calvertcliffs.com for tour and other information.)
