American Chestnut Land Trust

One of the largest natural areas remaining along the Chesapeake's western shore, the land trust offers 15 miles of hiking trails open to the public on its 3,000 protected acres.

The terrain varies from forest to swampy. Trails are marked with blazes, but it would be wise to take a compass with your trail map.

ACLT also promotes special events such as guided canoe trips on Parkers Creek from April through October.
